Jancovic then undergoes a series of punishing physiological and psychometric tests in laboratory to evaluate the effect of extreme weather on his own body.

      Television's first comprehensive history of Scottish Literature. Special challenges: to work within a limited budget and realise selected texts in a visually evocative way; communicating these ideas to a composer to produce an original score.

    • Days that Shook the World (Producer/Director)
      Subjects covered include: the murder of the Tsar and his family, the end of the Berlin Wall, the splitting of the atom, and the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. Challenges: selecting appropriate archive, working on drama reconstruction abroad on a very tight budget and schedule, and getting believable performances from non-actors.

      4 part dramatisation of Scotland's turbulent religious history. The challenge here was to make the subject matter as visual as possible. This included extensive battle re-enactments, hangings, burnings at the stake, and disembowelments etc. - all on a limited, documentary budget.

Skills

Have shot extensively on 16mm, Super 8, VX100 and PD150, DSR 570, Sony Z1, both as a cameraman and director. Keen stills photographer. Mountaineering and sailing. Full driving licence.

Languages

Norwegian, German and some French. Knowledge of Gaelic.
