Trevor Lock is an actor, writer and comedian.
He made his TV debut back in 1998/99 with Lee and Herring in two series of BBC2's cult classic comedy TMWRNJ.
n 1999 he wrote, directed and starred in his first full length stage play at The Edinburgh Festival Friday Night At The End Of The World 'Superbly comic writing' - SUNDAY TIMES. This play was rewarded with a commission from the BBC;
In 2000 Trevor returned to the festival with two more comic plays that he also co-wrote and starred in; All By Myself - 'Strangely charming and irresistible. Utterly improbable, absolutely entertaining' THE INDEPENDENT and Something You Should Know - 'Funny, moving and clever' THE SCOTSMAN. This play was adapted for BBC Radio 4 in 2003.
From 1999-2000 Trevor toured across the UK as Stewart Lee's support act.
In 2001 Trevor co-wrote and starred in What You Really Want which played at the Pleasance Theatre in Edinburgh before going on to have an extended run in London 'Absolutely hilarious. Part sitcom, part philosophical musing. Fantastic.' METRO . This too was optioned by the BBC.
By 2002/3 Trevor had gained a cult following on the UK stand up circuit and he made a very successful transition to television with this on BBC3's Brain Candy.
In 2003 Trevor left the UK and went to Peru. The play Travel Sick, based on Trevor's experiences in Peru, went out in the Afternoon Play slot on Radio 4 In 2005.
After Trevor returned to the UK in 2005 he began writing and performing comedy again with Paul Foot and then Russell Brand. In 2006-07 he co-hosted with Russell Brand on Russell's Saturday night and Sunday morning shows on Radio 2 and 6Music and the number one podcast of the same show.
In 2006-07 Trevor again toured the UK this time supporting Russell Brand on the back of which he had his first solo tour dates.
Trevor has most recently been seen acting in a variety of roles in Channel 4's award winning comedy series Star Stories. His live comedy happening 'Trevor Lock's Philosophy Society' occurs before sold out audiences in London every Thursday and is also touring the UK this autumn. He is currently writing a musical comedy.
